At Mission Equipped, we proudly serve children of the U.S. military, law enforcement, and first responder communities. Our mission is built on trust — and that begins with honesty and respect for those who’ve truly served.
Falsely claiming military service or honors is a federal offense under the Stolen Valor Act of 2013 — especially when done to gain benefits, services, or donations.
Anyone found misrepresenting their military background in connection with Mission Equipped will be reported and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
We will never allow stolen valor to take resources from the families we are here to support.
Pretending to be a police officer, firefighter, EMT, or other first responder to access our services is also illegal in most states. This includes:
We take this just as seriously as stolen valor.
We may request documents (e.g., DD-214, department ID, or other forms) to confirm service. This is never meant to exclude — it’s to ensure our limited resources reach the right families.
Help us keep our mission honorable. If you believe someone is misrepresenting their background, you can report it confidentially by emailing: legal@missionequipped.org
Every dollar and piece of gear we provide is made possible by donors who believe in our cause. We owe it to them — and to our heroes — to get this right.
